Seattle and its surrounding communities have a football season tradition. It’s called Blue Friday. On Fridays, it seems everyplace you go, you will see Seahawks Spirit.
Last Blue Friday, I went through the drive-thru at Starbucks. I ordered a Peppermint Mocha (so bad, but soooo GOOD!!) and a Protein Platter. When I pulled forward to pay, I was told the car ahead “got” me!
So you know what I did? I paid for the car behind me! The cashier and I hoped that would go on all night. I wonder if it did.
On my way home, I thought of ways to be thoughtful to strangers and neighbors. Some things should just be automatic like being a merciful driver or picking up litter.
I found this blog post, called 60 Selfless Ways to Pay it Forward take a look to find inspiration for spreading kindness!
It’s easy to be kind!

I had that happen last week at Starbucks too! It’s so fun to think of the chain continuing. It sure put a smile on my face for my early morning commute. 🙂

Pooh, That kind of generosity sticks with you, doesn’t it?! I felt the same way. I was at the beginning of a 1 hour drive in rush hour traffic and I didn’t even notice the traffic because my heart was made light!

What a great topic to bring to our attention. It seems like this time of year, I’m so wrapped up in what I need to do to make my kids feel happy and pleased at Christmas time. It’s easy to forget how awesome it feels to bless others, especially people we don’t even know. I love that you had the Starbucks experience! Great post sister!!! 😄

Amy, I happen to know what plans you have up your sleeve to bless others for Christmas.
The Starbucks experience was really sweet.
Within the last year, a friend and I went to a “fine dining” restaurant together. When we asked for the check, the waitress told us the table next to us paid our bill. We had ordered an appetizer, salad, main courses, desert, and drinks! By the time we were aware, the people were long gone and unable to be thanked.
