Hey, Girlfriend!

❀ Making the World a Brighter Place One Friendship at a Time

view-from-airplane

From Seattle, Vieques is a journey.  Since we had a 12 hour commute, we took the red eye so we could sleep on the way to our destination and not lose a day of sun and fun in paradise.  I am a great airplane sleeper, but this time I hardly slept a wink!

Instead of sleeping, I took pictures; had an excellent quiche and super juicy, sweet, fresh fruit for breakfast (one of the best breakfasts ever… it’s strange that I am saying that about airplane food, but it was delicious!); watched a movie; and studied for my upcoming NY/NJ True Color Expert™ training with Maria Killam.

I was told by another passenger that this is the Bahamas.

Map-of-our-travels

This is a map of our travels. I drew a circle where Seattle is and a line leading to another circle where I think Vieques is.  It may be a little further south.

Not only was my breakfast delicious, our flight attendant was pure joy.  Everyone in our section knew his name.  By the end of the flight he knew everyone’s story and we knew his.  He was so delightful that Jon wrote a long impressive letter to American Airlines for him.  Jon is an Executive Platinum customer, which our flight attendant told us means that a letter from Jon will hold some clout over a letter from me😉.

I think this is a view of Puerto Rico.

We landed in Puerto Rico and then took a little plane to the island of Vieques.

Jon and I checked in, got a drink and caught a golf cart ride to our room.  I took pictures of our room before we unpacked (I will share them soon); then we changed into our bathing suits and had a bite to eat, poolside, before heading to the beach.

We played in the ocean until the sun set.  I was so lost in picture taking that I didn’t notice Jon was sleeping like a baby on the lounge chair behind me.

There is still more to come from Vieques… stay tuned!

    1. There are so many beautiful places to visit in our world! I have been to gorgeous warm weather beaches in Southern Cal, South of France, Italy, Israel, Tahiti, Mexico, Hawaii, Vieques and I realize that I haven’t scratched the surface!

From another world traveler….. Sri Lanka, Maldives, Seychelles, Zanzibar (easy to combine with a safari), Pemba Island, Camps Bay / Cape Town, Koh Phangan, Hurgata (Egypt). Dubai and the middle of the coast in Oman. Tell your dork of a husband to take you. And that he owes me a beer

  2. Bob! So great to see you here! You are making exactly my point… and why do you have to rub it in?! Every place you just mentioned, makes my heart flutter.

I will tell him that you said he has to take me and that he owes you at least one beer.

Probably 6 beers !! We’ve been to all of those ( and forgot a couple in Vietnam that were spectacular). Emirates to Dubai. Easy from there !! Hope to see you guys soon.
