Hey, Girlfriend!

❀ Making the World a Brighter Place One Friendship at a Time

Now that it’s the New Year, let’s make a few resolutions together:

Let us

  • Be Kind

  • Be Patient

  • Be Merciful

  • Choose Forgiveness (for self and others; Unforgiveness and Grudges are thieves who steal from those who hold onto them)

  • Choose Love

  • Choose Gentleness

  • Never Give Up on our Dreams

  • Believe that it’s Never too Late and We’re Never Too Old

  • Express Sincere Appreciation

  • Be Grateful (even in the midst of hardship)

  • Be Hopeful

  • Be Purposeful

  • Be Generous with Time and Money

  • Be Part of the Solution (more positive contribution, less judging and complaining)

  • Be Wise, but Vulnerable with our Hearts (the more we give, the more we get)

  • Be Optimistic

  • Like Ourselves (if we are unlikeable, let’s change!)

  • Acknowledge When we are Wrong

  • Be Trustworthy

  • Always Do Our Best

  • Eat 5 servings of varied Fresh Produce a Day (choose organic when we can)

  • Exercise every day (even if it’s only curls with a soup can or stretching our muscles)

  • Be Brave

  • Be Happy for the Success of Others (what comes around goes around)

  • Meditate on things that are Good

This is a fantastic list!! I will absolutely adopt this. Every year I choose a word to guide me. My word this year is Mindful. The above list is right in line with the values I want to create…thank you! 🙂

    1. Kim, Mindful is a great word! I am thinking of the word “purposeful” in the same way. It’s easy to go through the motions of life and spend money on the wrong things, eat too much junk food, not make or reach any goals, not be generous, be a complainer; but if we are mindful we can avoid all of that! xox

    2. Kim, I like your idea of choosing a word to guide you. A long list, no one can remember. A word can be remembered! 💖

What a fabulous list! And each word is so meaningful. I am working on the exercise part right now… I am off to Zumba!

    1. Nancy, Thank you! The exercise part should be a no brainer, but it is one the hardest to follow through with! It’s such a privilege to be able to move our bodies and keep them strong. I can be such a procrastinator. The other resolution to be PURPOSEFUL is the one that can help with follow through! I have never tried Zumba, as far as I can tell, it’s a great work out. I am so glad you are doing it!

This is my first time doing Zumba. Started a few months ago and am so glad I did. Plus… I have met new friends as well!

    2. That’s a great way to get plugged in to a new community! Your new friends can help with accountability, too! How long have you been in AZ now?

It has been 2 and half years. I love it! I do get to go to Pennsylvania in the summer to get away from the desert heat.
